Styling Trio has come a long way since our beginning in 2009. I started this Agency alone, traveling all over the Riviera Maya region. My brides have brought me to Cancun, all the way down to Tulum, and back to my home base in Playa del Carmen.
Allow me to take you back when life was simple yet complicated at the same time….growing up in Houston, Texas, in a Mexican-American family. My parents owned a “Tex-Mex” restaurant in downtown Houston. This is where I spent most of my free time learning about the business and the people. My father always showed me how to be at ease with people, and always reminded me,
My mother taught me to hold my chin up high, and she still gives me the best advice of anyone I know. Most importantly, my parents have both given me their unequivocal support whenever I needed it. In the summer of 2000 my parents closed their restaurant doors and I could only wonder,
I was waiting tables at the family business during college, and one night I catered a dinner party for a cosmetic company, there I met the Beauty Guru Ms. Nicki that would change my destiny. Weeks later I left the restaurant business and vested my energies in this new world of make-up. I’d never had any formal training, but I quickly learned that I had a natural talent for identifying what my brides needs are & customizing them into their own look.
After a few years of working in Houston, I relocated to New York City, accepted a job at Henri Bendel, and was introduced to an extraordinary side of the cosmetic world. I have to be honest the City was intense, and that intensity pushed me to grow and learn quickly. After mastering a wide variety of industry-based skills I moved back to Houston to be closer to my family and regrouped for my next career phase. I accepted a position at Neiman Marcus, where I enjoyed learning about their products and methods, but I quickly knew something bigger was meant for me. This inspired a trip to Playa Del Carmen to clear my head and refocus my energies.
As soon as I stepped off the bus I fell in love with the air! Something just wouldn’t let me leave, and when I did I only wanted to return as quickly as possible. I intuitively knew that this would be my new home I just had no idea how I was going to make it work.
On one of my many nights out, ill never forget, I was sitting at the once famous Basico Hotel having a Cucumber Martini. Next to me sat a woman from Germany, she began to make small talk, finally after too many martinis and a healthy buzz (don’t forget they were cucumber after all) she said something that stuck in my mind , she said,
In the time it took for those words to sink into my thick head I realized I knew what I had to do. I went back to Houston, packed my closet, almost forgot my makeup (I was so excited) and came back to Paradise to begin the new chapter of my life. I named the agency Styling Trio, keeping in mind that every Bride will have her own personal Airbrush Artist, Hair Stylist & last but certainly not least, a rockstar Assistant to tie it all together (and pour the champagne of course!)
Innovation is what we do here at Styling Trio, Bringing the HD Airbrush technique to the Riviera Maya was the best thing we could have done for the brides getting married in tropical climates. After years of Airbrushing we continue to perfect the technique and simply be the best.
Fast forward 6 years… Styling Trio now employs over a dozen of the best stylists the Rivera maya region has to offer, a diverse fun team that comes from all over the world, living the dream and doing what we do best! Beautifying! Our services offer a very distinctive mix of high-end professional experience and intuitive skills. Every face has a personality of its own and it’s my job to discover that is and bring it to life. We love what we do, and we translate that passion and enthusiasm to every project we take on.
My life in the Riviera Maya is like nothing I would have ever expected. I wouldn’t trade this for anything or anyone. Its important to me that everyone around me feel that energy when they work with Styling trio — even if just for a day.
